Ayurvedic Treatment for Male Infertility: Improve Sperm Count & Motility Naturally

Male factor contributes to 40–50% of all couple infertility. Here's how Ayurvedic Rasayana protocols rebuild sperm health, gently and without hormones.
The Hidden Crisis: Falling Sperm Counts in India
Global sperm counts have dropped by more than 50% in the last 50 years, and Indian metros are no exception. Today, male factor contributes to roughly 40–50% of all couple-infertility cases — yet most men hesitate to get tested.
A simple semen analysis can reveal Oligospermia (low count), Asthenozoospermia (poor motility), Teratozoospermia (abnormal shape) or Azoospermia (no sperm). Each has specific Ayurvedic management.
Why Sperm Quality is Falling
Modern triggers include obesity, smoking, alcohol, tight clothing, laptop heat, environmental toxins, chronic stress and uncontrolled diabetes.
Ayurveda identifies these as causes of Shukra dhatu kshaya — depletion of the reproductive tissue — combined with Pitta-driven oxidative damage.
The Ayurvedic Rasayana Protocol
Our 90–180 day protocol combines Shukra-vardhana herbs (Safed Musli, Kaunch Beej, Shatavari, Ashwagandha) with antioxidant-rich Rasayanas such as Chyawanprash and Amla.
We pair this with a sperm-supportive diet rich in zinc, selenium, omega-3 and vitamin C; gentle detoxification (Panchakarma where indicated); and lifestyle correction — quitting smoking, reducing scrotal heat and managing stress.
What the Numbers Show
The complete sperm production cycle is around 72–90 days. We therefore re-evaluate semen analysis at 90 days, when most patients show a measurable improvement in count, motility and morphology. Continued improvement is common over 4–6 months, with many couples conceiving naturally without IVF.
When to Start Treatment
If you have been trying to conceive for more than 12 months (or 6 months if your partner is over 35), it is time for a semen analysis. The earlier sperm health is addressed, the higher the chance of natural conception. Book a confidential fertility consultation with Dr. Lohit to begin a personalised plan.
