Male Sexual Problems

A sexual problem, or sexual dysfunction, refers to a problem during any phase of the sexual response cycle that prevents the individual or couple from experiencing satisfaction from the sexual activity. The sexual response cycle has four phases: excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution.

While research suggests that sexual dysfunction is common (43% of women and 31% of men report some degree of difficulty)

Male Sexual Problems

Erectile Dysfunction (Impotence)

Erectile Dysfunction is defined as persistent or recurrent, partial or/ complete, failure to obtain or sustain, an erection until completion of satisfactory sexual activity. Other terms for erectile dysfunction are Impotence, erectile failure, erectile dysfunctions, sexual inadequacy, sexual weakness, less erection, decreased erection, failure in intercourse, sexual incompetence, unable to sex i.e. intercourse, erection problem, napunsakata, less hardness of penis, looseness of penis in mid of sex or before penetration, E. D., ED, etc. The symbol for the man’s “masculinity” is the erect penis. It represents manhood and is expected to be ready to perform at a moment’s notice. When man suffers with erectile failure it comes as a major shock, when suddenly the symbol of his masculinity does not respond on. It usually means much more to the man than the simple fact that he is not responding sexually at that moment. It causes him to question his status as an adequate male. Thus when he fails, becomes panicky.

Premature Ejaculation (early discharge)

Premature ejaculation (also known as early discharge or quick orgasm, early fall, Shigra-patan) is one of the most frequent, of sexual disorders in the male and is characterized by sudden ejaculation of the semen, just prior to or immediately after vaginal penetration during intercourse (before one wishes or before he could satisfy the female partner). Approximately 10% to 30% people of all age group suffer with quick semen discharge. Premature or ‘before time’ in other words, is a condition where the man has no voluntary control over his ejaculation. He is quick on the trigger once he starts the coitus. This is a very frustrating disorders of male sexual function in which man feels totally helpless. This leads to bitterness in husbands & wife relationships. For the man, lack of control of his body functioning leaves him feeling unsure of himself. His pleasure is often decreased by the abrupt early discharge. Eventually his preoccupation with trying to postpone ejaculation will hinder his ability enjoy himself to sexual pleasure. When a man is, feeling inadequate, and ejaculating fast, the woman will probably be left unsatisfied. Her frustration will only increase the negative pattern. This is an easily treatable condition.

Delayed or Retarded Ejaculation (orgasm)

There are certain conditions in which ejaculation occurs but it takes long time (delayed ejaculation). Retarded ejaculation is a disorder where the male wants to ejaculate but is unable to do so. It was believed to be a rare condition but we frequently come across patients suffering from this disorder. Sex therapists in USA and Europe have also noted an increase in its incidence. Individuals complaining of retarded ejaculation get aroused; have a normal erection, which persists, but cannot ejaculate in the vagina, though eagerly desiring orgasmic release. But sometimes they can easily ejaculate during masturbation or oral coitus with a partner. The causes of retarded ejaculation are some hormonal disorders, drugs, C.N.S. abnormalities & psychiatric illnesses. In order to understand the paradox of a man being able to have a good erection without ejaculation, it is necessary to remember that the sexual response is biphasic. Erection is mediated by the parasympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system, while ejaculation is dependent on the sympathetic division of central nervous system. The impotent male is unable to achieve an erection while the male with retarded ejaculation cannot come, although his erection is normal. In severe cases of retarded ejaculation, the extreme frustration of being unable to experience orgasm makes such men dislike intercourse and resort to masturbation alone for orgasmic release. One would think that the female partner would welcome the delayed orgasmic response of the male, but it is not so, she considers it a rejection of herself. ABSENT EJACULATION Top Absent ejaculation in which patient does not gets orgasm&semen discharge even after prolong sexual activity. Delayed ejaculation: In this disorder orgasm&semen discharge occurs after abnormally prolonged sexual activity. Nocturnal Emissions

Nocturnal emission is an ejaculation of semen experienced by a male during sleep. It is also called a “wet dream”, a spontaneous orgasm, or simply an orgasm during sleep. Nocturnal emissions are most common during teenage and early adult years. However, nocturnal emissions may happen any time after puberty. They may be accompanied by erotic dreams, and the emission may happen without erection. Dreams, if recalled at all, may not be erotic, or they may be confusing to the dreamer, especially if he is an adolescent, immediately after his first wet dream. The sensations, if any, which accompany a wet dream may range anywhere from simply a tingling sensation to a sense of urinating or having to urinate, instead of the typical orgasm (which is why many teens might awaken in embarrassment believing they have just wet the bed). It is possible to wake up during, or to simply sleep through, the ejaculation in what is sometimes called a “sex dream’. Nocturnal emissions occur as a physical response to erotic dreams and as a mechanism to expel an abundance of sperm cells, which are constantly in production within the male individual. The discharge of semen through the penis during sleep usually as a result of erotic dreams is called nocturnal emission. It is also called “wet dreams” or “night falls”. When a young man experiences a nocturnal emission, he gets quite a shock. If the person is ignorant of the normal sexual process, he will be bewildered at what is happening to him and may turn to bogus literature on sex or to quacks for an answer. Misinformation may result in sexual problems. Wet dreams are quite natural. No physical or mental harm can come from them. They do not require any treatment. It is not just boys who get these wet dreams. Even girls and women can have erotic dreams as a result of pent-up sexual desires, which may lead to orgasms during sleep.

What's a Wet Dream?

A wet dream is an erotic dream that is so intense that a guy ejaculates (cums) in his sleep. Nocturnal emission is one of the ways the body gets rid of semen build up, so it usually doesn’t happen during periods of masturbation or sex play. Very often guys don’t remember the dream. If they don’t know what’s going on, they may think they’ve “wet the bed.” Although wet dreams are most common among teenage guys, many men also have nocturnal emissions as adults. Some guys never have wet dreams, but most do. Dreams or no dreams — both are normal. And ladies needn’t feel left out — women and girls have wet dreams, too. Their vaginas become lubricated as they become sexually aroused in their dreams. But there is less evidence of wet dreams in women than in men because less liquid is produced or spilled on the bed sheets. Wet dreams are also more common in men, because a man’s penis gets more tactile stimulation (physical touch) during sleep than a woman’s clitoris. Nocturnal Emissions becomes a problem or a disease when the frequency of the emissions increases more than 3-4 times per week and prevails as it as for more than 3 -4 months continuous associated with body weakness and fatigue, feeling of weakness always and loss of energy and enthusiasm felt by the individual which needs HERBAL MEDICATION.
